The 13th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (WCICA) was held in Changsha, Hunan Province from 5th to 8th in July 2018. Under the guidance of Prof. Jian Huang, Hongge Ru’s paper was accepted by the congress and won the Best Paper Award.
Nowadays, the soft robot is one of the hotspots in the field of robotics. Compared with the traditional rigid robot, the soft bending pneumatic actuator has a broad prospect in fields such as rehabilitation therapy, intelligent prostheses and assistant force. Meanwhile, based on the visual recognition of high-speed monocular camera, the soft bending pneumatic actuator, to some extent, achieved the feedback control of bending pneumatic muscle, which provides a solution for control problems of this kind of actuator. Based on this work and the guidance of Prof. Jian Huang and Prof. Caihua Xiong from School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Hongge Ru gave a speech at the conference titled “Design and Control of a Soft Bending Pneumatic Actuator Based on Visual Feedback” and won the Best Paper Award.
As one of the three important conferences in control field in China, WCICA is supported by IEEE Control Systems Association, IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Chinese Association of Automation and Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA). This congress invites well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad to present special invitation reports, and organizes various academic exchanges, such as thematic forums and oral presentations. The congress also sets up the Best Paper Award, including the Best Theory Paper Award, Best Application Paper Award, Best Student Paper Award, Best Poster Paper Award, Best Paper Award on Biomedical and Biological Systems and Best Paper Award on AIAG Supply Chain. The papers accepted by the congress will be collected in IEEE Explore and retrieved by EI. Some excellent papers will be recommended for publication in authoritative journals included in SCI and EI.
