On April 20, 2016, Ministry of Education issued No.3 file and released the list of Chang Jiang Scholars Program in the year of 2015. Prof. Zhigang Zeng of School of Automation has been selected as a distinguished professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program.
Prof. Zhigang Zeng received his Ph. D. degree at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2003. Then he went to Chinese University of Hong Kong to conduct post-doctoral research work. In 2008, he joined in HUST and was rated as a doctoral supervisor. In 2011, he was awarded as a young expert because of his prominent contributions to Hubei Province and was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has visited University of Western Sydney in Australia and Texas A&M University, Qatar. Now he is the director of the key laboratory of Image Processing and Intelligence Control of the Ministry of Education.
Prof. Zeng is mainly engaged in modelling, analysis, control and application of complex systems. In recent year, subsidized by National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, national 973 project and other important projects, he has researched the asymptotic behavior of complex systems (including stability, periodicity, dissipation, multi-attractor and domain of attraction). The research results are mainly applied in associative memory of memristive system and prediction of catastrophic landslide system. He has published over 100 SCI papers and his index in Google scholar is 33. 17 papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers consecutively. Besides, he has serves as an editorial board member of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Cognitive Computation, Neural Networks and Applied Soft Computing, and a guest editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Neural Computing & Applications, Neurocomputing, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems and Neural Processing Letters. He also organized eleven publications of academic journal albums included in SCI. He has won the first prize in Nature Science of Hubei Province, the first prize of Science Research Famous Achievement Award in Higher Institution for Nature Science, and the second prize in National Award for Science and Technology Progress.
