A few days ago, Clarivate Analytics, a global professional information and analysis service company, released the list of “Global Highly Cited Scientists” in 2017. Prof. Zhigang Zeng from School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation is selected into this list and he is the only candidate in HUST.

Based on the number of published papers and citation data from Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics carefully chose the scientists with most cited papers (which had the top 1% citation influence in the same field and year). The newly released 2017 “Highly Cited Scientists” listed the scientists who had published the most highly cited papers in relevant fields in the past decade. Based on the number of published papers and citation data from more than 33,000 journals of SCI, more than 3,000 scientists with 130,000 of highly cited papers from 900 institutions of 21 natural and social science fields were selected.

Prof. Zhigang Zeng mainly focuses on the research of modelling, analysis, control and application of complex systems. He is the director of the Key Laboratory of Ministry of Education of Image Information Processing and Intelligent Control, the leading professor of HUST Scholars Program, the distinguished professor of Chang Jiang Scholars Program, winner of National Outstanding Youth Fund. He was awarded the first prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education and the first prize of Hubei Natural Science Award.
